Building a deck? Here is a handy decking build cost calculator to estimate all costs on your decking build. How to use.
1. Estimate number of stumps, bags of concrete, bearers in lineal metres (ledger if required) and joists in lineal metres based on the Australia standards tables.
Add those estimates to the calculator below.
2. Estimate the lineal metres of decking boards required.
Example: Deck 6 x 3 metres using a 90mm decking board.
3000mm divided by 95mm (decking board & 5mm gap) = 32.
32 x 6 (6 metres) = 192.
192 + 10% cut off/waste = 210 lineal metres of decking timber.
3. Fixings, nails and decking fixings worked out on square metre of deck. Just add this amount and away you go.
